You would think after this move, the Knicks will look to add a SF very soon. Francisco Garcia is an option, Garcia is a better defender than he is an offensive player, however he did have a productive offensive series against the Thunder this year in the playoffs. Also a target could be Carlos Delfino, who is close with Pablo Prigioni, both being from Argentina. Carlos is a very good offensive player, who can hit the 3-ball with consistency. He is also a very willing passer. Delfino is smart with the ball and makes very good decisions.
In a different direction, the Knicks could use their 1.75 million on Elton Brand, who would give depth to the PF position. Elton can defend in the post, drain the mid-range jumper, as well as rebound the basketball.
Look for the Knicks to make some quick decisions in the next few days, adding a couple of SF’s like Shawne Williams and Carlos Delfino, as well as trying to add Brand or Martin. In addition to these moves, the Knicks will look to add a “change of pace” PG like Aaron Brooks or Will Bynum.
