When you think of the New York Knicks, who comes to mind? Is it Carmelo Anthony? Tyson Chandler? How about J.R. Smith?
There is no way the Knicks would be where they are now without him.
Explosive, exciting, the spark off the bench, and the list goes on and on. There are so many ways to describe Smith; it’s hard to put it into words.
This season, Smith is having a breakout, outstanding year, averaging 16.7 points per game, 3 assists per game, and 5.1 rebounds per game.
This season, Smith has really matured and understands his role with the team. He knows that he should do whatever is best for the team, even if that means he should come off the bench.
On The Other Hand:
Now there is one major flaw when having a guy like J.R. Smith, and that is inconsistency. One night he could score 28 points, a few nights later he could only put up 13. But other than that, Smith has been great and has made a huge impact.
If J.R. Smith keeps on putting up great performances like this, he should definitely be highly considered to win the Sixth Man of the Year award.
