JVG Could Be on Knicks Short List

The Post has also learned that if Dolan eventually makes a move, old enemy and ex-Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy would not be ruled out as a future candidate — though such a hire seems more sensible in the offseason if Dolan goes with an interim coach.

Knickswag Notes:

Am I dreaming, could this be true? Probably just rumor, but a guy can dream can’t he? I think this move wold be the smartest move to make in the last 15 years. JVG is a proven NY winner and could instill accountability and defensive attitude to the NY Knicks. Could he do all this in the 13/14 season? Not likely, but moving forward into the trade deadline, and into the off-season, JVG could help reshape this team and build around Melo the right way. I am not hoping for the removal of Mike Woodson, but if JVG is on the market and he would return to his first love of coaching, then NY should-be the place to do it.

I like Woodson but I think he has lost the team. They may respect him but they don’t believe in him. Rewarding undeserving players(JR Smith) make it hard for some of the other players to see any benefit for playing hard since it still wont increase their minutes. I hated when JVG quit because it was truly the teams fault for the bad play. I would welcome JVG back with wide open arms. Unfortunately I think he’d need some additions and subtractions to this roster
