Rockets, Knicks among teams that may have interest in veteran SG Richard Hamilton, NBA sources say. Hamilton likely looking at vet minimum $

At one point in his career Richard Hamilton was a pure shooter, especially from mid-range. However, now is not that time. Since leaving the Pistons with a championship ring to join the Chicago Bulls, Hamilton has not been nearly the player he was years ago. Yes, it is true that he has not been healthy, and was also a liability in the defensive heavy system in Chicago.
At this point in his career he is a veterans minimum player at best. He also needs to stay healthy for him to get a chance to stick with a team this year. If he can do that then I think he is a valuable asset to many playoff teams.
Are the Knicks one of those teams? I think if they did not have Hardaway Jr. on the depth chart, then I could see Rip joining the Knicks as a 3rd string shooting guard. He has tons of experience and knowledge of the game, but if he is looking to take time away from Shump, J.R. and Hardaway Jr. then this move would make no sense at all. Stay tuned in the roller coaster world of the New York Knicks.
