Knicks 103  Cavaliers 102

Coming into tonight’s game against the Cavs the Knicks had to play without their star Carmelo Anthony and their reserve power forward Rasheed Wallace. The Knicks have had mixed results without Anthony. Usually ball movement and solid defense wins games no matter who have you playing. Tonight was another test as the Knicks 556303_10151591649359616_53965890_nprevailed in the end.

1st Half

The Knicks came out with the ball movement mentality and it paid off. The Cavs and the Knicks traded baskets throughout the first half with very little advantage on either side. Kyrie Irving showed off why he was highly regarded in all sports circles. NY had sparks from constant ball movement and average defense to end the half.

2nd Half.

NY took a nice lead in the 3rd, but let the Cavs back in with the play of Irving. Tyson Chandler and Steve Novak were sparks for the Knicks tonight in place of the injured Carmelo Anthony. Raymond Felton was in the driver seat for NY as he penetrated all night as well as running the pick and roll with Tyson Chandler to perfection.

Overall, the Knicks got a solid but close win tonight. Kyrie Irving kept this game close at the end of the 4th. Anderson Varejao had a chance to tie the game with 1.0 second left, but came up short in the end. The NY Knicks are 10-0 at home and 18-5 to start the season. What more can you ask for as a New Yorker and a Knicks fan.

The Knicks were outrebounded as usual, but only by a few. They handed out an exceptional 26 assists and only committed 9 turnovers. Well done by a solid Knicks team that has surprised the NBA and most Knicks fans.
