Former New York Knicks star, Patrick Ewing, has been hired by longtime friend, Michael Jordan, as “Associate Head Coach” of the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Bobcats recently hired Steve Clifford as head coach and Ewing will apparently be second in command.
The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski.
Ewing has held assistant coaching positions with both Jeff and Stan Van Gundy.
Ewing has become increasingly frustrated that he has yet to be given the opportunity to lead a team. He interviewed for the position in 2011 with the Detroit Pistons as well as for the Bobcats in 2012.
Ewing has worked for MSG as part of the pregame, halftime and post-game shows recently.
