Jason kidd won’t play tonight.

Knicks have been through a myriad of player injuries this season, some minor and some serious. Tonight against the Orlando Magic the Knicks will be without the services of Jason Kidd. Kidd has been battling some back soreness and spasms. He will sit out tonight and in my opinion he should take a 4 or 5 days of rest. With Raymond Felton back and the solid back up play of Pablo Prig’s, the Knicks are now back in good hands, compared to the last 4 weeks of extended minutes for Jason, resulting in a tired player that was mostly ineffective. Get him healthy and let him find his niche again like earlier in the season.
Tyson Chandler is playing tonight. — Al Iannazzone (@Al_Iannazzone) January 30, 2013
Tyson Chandler will give it a go tonight. His sore neck and other lingering issues need to be addressed at some point, but the Knicks are extremely thin up front and have no other bigs to throw in. The loss of Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace has hurt the Knicks tremendously. In order for the Knicks to play solid defense and defend the basket, they need the services of Tyson, Marcus and Sheed. Until Marcus and Sheed return from their injuries, Tyson will not be able to get the proper rest he needs. Marcus’ return is anticipated in the next week or so barring any setbacks and Sheed will begin running this week and his return is less optimistic in my opinion.
